Postgraduate Education Programmes – Correct planning an implementation

Abstract

The World Health Assembly Resolution WHA67.19 declares that palliative care needs to be included as part of ongoing education and training for all health care professionals. The global need for palliative care is increasing rapidly – there is thus an urgent need for increased education and training in order that the palliative care needs can be met. 

The patient and their family must be at the heart of the education process.

This session will consider the key parameters necessary for successful planning and implementation of education programmes in terms of content, delivery and sustainability.
